Ben Palmer takes down WPT Venetian Deep Stack Showdown Main Event
The inaugural WPT Venetian Deep Stack Showdown $3,500 buy-in NLH Main Event has found a champion. Benjamin Palmer -a Venetian Casino regular- took down his first ever WPT title after besting a field of 734 entries, winning the massive $431,655 top prize. It is by far his career-best score which took his total live poker earnings to $2,732,635.
On the final table, the heads-up battle started with Anthony Gargano with 16.8 Million and Ben Palmer with 12.5 Millon chips. On the final hand, Gargano shoved all his chips with Ah4c which Palmer called with Qd10d. The board flipped Jc 10h 9c 6c Qh giving Palmer two pairs. Thus, ended Gargano’s run in the runner-up spot.
