Jonas Wexler Takes Down 2019 WSOP Circuit Cherokee ME for $300,536
Jonas Wexler wins the World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah’s Cherokee $1,700 NLH Main Event and banked the top prize of $300,536. The event happened at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina.
The 40-year-old player topped a field of 1087 entries to win the massive prize as well as his second WSOP gold ring. He bested player Phil Hernz in the heads-up battle, who had to settle for $185,628 as the runner-up prize.
Wexler’s previous best live poker tournament cash was $189,555, which he received at $5,000 NLH short-handed event at WSOP 2009.
Along with the ring and the lion’s share of the total prize pool of $1,646,805, Wexler has also earned a seat to play the season-ending Global Casino Championship.
