Manig Loeser wins the 2019 EPT Monte-Carlo NLH Main Event
The 30-year-old German highroller Manig Loeser tops a field of 922 entries to win EPT Monte-Carlo €5,300 NLH Main Event title and $676,890 top prize.
This is Loeser’s first live poker tournament title. His lifetime total live tournament earnings are now more than $10.1 million.
Before the heads-up, the last three players (Loeser, China’s Huang Wei, and Hungary’s Viktor Katzenberger) had a discussion to three-way chop the pot as their chip stacks are almost equal. They decided on a deal (Huang - €552,056, Katzenberger - €529,707, and Loeser- €527,716). The three players then started playing for the trophy and €78,061 bonus.
After defeating Katzenberger, Loeser beat Huang Wei heads up to lift the coveted trophy.
